The 19th AFDVA was a nuclear detachment
that was active from 1960 thru 1989, and in this website you see more
than 1,600 photos of veterans from that period. The 19th AFDVA mascot was a mammoth; big and strong like the guns it represents. Thirty years ago a bronze statue was made in honor of the mascot and it was nicknamed "Hendrik Junior", to this day it stands in the officer's canteen on Knob Hill. |

The reunion is on September
11, 2010, it may seem like it's a long ways off but before you know it,
that day will be upon us. There are a lot of preparations to consider, most
importantly making contact with your old buddies, gaining public interest
and obtaining more sponsorship. Volunteers are welcomed to print and distribute posters or fliers and to solicit small donations to help cover the cost of promoting this once in a lifetime event in the newspapers. If you have further interest in the 19th AFDVA reunion, click here... |

Legerplaats Oldebroek / Lt. Kol. Tonnet kazerne 't Harde The symbol of the new times was the swimming pool "De Hokseberg". The design was from the Heidemij and was known as the most beautiful swimming pool in The Netherlands. A swimming pool is quite common nowadays and handy too, especially when you have a forest fire to fight. Water from the swimming pool was used to fight a forest fire that originated from a stray artillery round on June 18, 1970, fortunately 't Harde was saved but 3 estates and several homes were burned to the ground, new homes were built on the spot of impact leaving no trace of the destruction. |
